Jobu expresses congratulations to the New York Giants.

We’ll probably have some more coverage later this week, or maybe even in the next couple of weeks to come, but I just wanted to officially congratulate the 2011 New York Giants on their Super Bowl victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots! From a fan’s point of view, this is as good as it gets. My favorite team beats my least favorite team in the Super Bowl for the second time in four years? Are you
kidding me?

Big props to Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, who might just be starting to cement a Hall of Fame type legacy with his second Super Bowl win, his second Super Bowl MVP and his overall performance this entire season. Huge ups to Mario Manningham and his incredible fourth quarter catch (not quite Tyree, but these are getting ridiculous right?). The Giants defense didn’t get to Brady too often, but to hold such a high powered offense to just 17 points is pretty impressive.

The Patriots, again, played a great game. Unfortunately for them, they again came up just short. There were a couple of big drops (just ask Tom Brady’s wife) and one very poor decision by Tom Brady (and a great interception by Chase Blackburn). Other than that, the Patriots again had me nervous, at least until Eli got the ball with 3:46 to go in the game and a chance to lead the Giants on one of his soon to be patented game winning drives.

As I said, we’ll have more to say about this game as it all sinks in… For now, Congratulations New York Giants! I’m going to go out and buy some newspapers, and even the jersey I’ve been putting off buying for the last month (didn’t want to jinx anything!!). Go Giants!
